Hi everyone, my name is Dan Couto and welcome to my course creating a Photoreal Beverage Ad. I am a professional freelance CGI artist with over 30 years experience. I originally came from the world of film and am self-taught in both photography and CGI. By cross-pollinating my CGI with my photographic lighting knowledge, I am able to create highly realistic imagery that has that photographic look and feel.

If you have ever wondered how photographers achieve that amazing “I could eat it with my eyes” look to their product photography, you will not only learn that with this course, you will learn how to do it in 3D.

In this course, we are going to learn how to use different 3D software packages and third party plugins specifically designed to reproduce photographic lighting and effects to create a photo-real product image of the kind a client would normally hire a professional photography studio to create.

Some of the major topics that we will cover include:

  • Using and creating reference images
  • Modeling a whiskey bottle
  • Modeling a glass and ice shards
  • Texturing the components of the project
  • Lighting and rendering
By the end of this course you’ll know how to model, texture and light your own 3D bottles, glasses, beverages and ice.

Before beginning the course you should be familiar with modo, Cinema 4D and RealFlow.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey to learn about the creation of photo-realistic product imagery with the creating a Photoreal Beverage Ad course, at Pluralsight.
